There are many definitions of self-image. It is how we view ourselves. It is how we see our physical appearance that is so predominant in today’s world and what it is that we think and feel about ourselves as a person. That view of ourselves has a HUGE influence on how we perceive the world around us. The way we define ourselves is a prism through which we view others and everything else. THAT IS THE BIG POINT!!! In other words, our self-image defines us and our lives. Wow!!! Do you realize that your self-image dictates how your life is?

Think about it for a moment… You create everything in your life by the way you feel. Only when you feel good, do you create what you desire. So, how you feel about yourself decides what it is that you create. When we look at ourselves, when we examine how we feel about ourselves every moment of our lives is what we see. What is it that we feel? It is like we see a shadow of ourselves instead of the real thing.

Let me explain.

When people change how they feel about themselves, they become extremely successful. They create amazing relationships, heal themselves, etc. It all starts with you!!! It means it all starts with how you feel about yourself. Changing your self-image is the tallest order you can ever have, but it is the most important thing you will ever do!!!

How do we go about it?

First, you need to understand who you really are. We were born knowing only love for ourselves and others. We had fun with everything and we were very happy. You were that little child. A little child sees only beauty in themselves as they have an incredible self-image. They know that they are awesome!!! Then… we grow up and instead of that little child that was in us, we see a shadow of ourselves that is so far away from real qualities that we possess. It is like we stand in the sun and we look at the shadow that it cast on the ground and we look at it thinking that it is us. The great news is that the little child with the amazing self-image is still in us. That little child is our true nature!!!  It is always there, we just need to see it!!!

How do we get in touch with our true nature?

We need to feel love for ourselves. We need to say many times during a day, I love you, (your name). The more love we feel for ourselves the more love we feel for others. That is how it works!!! Why? Because, the more beauty we see in ourselves the more beauty we see in everyone and everything. It is like we see things that were always there, we just notice them for the first time. Suddenly, our shadow that is cast by sun, is full of love, beauty and confidence. You see, the more incredible your self-image becomes the more confident you are. One of the things that many people make a big part of their self-image is their physical appearance. I am going to give you a great example. I was on a business meeting when a lady walked in. She was wearing a beautiful business attire, beautiful makeup and her hair looked awesome. She walked with such confidence that many eyes turned towards her. The extra weight that she had disappeared in that entire picture as she looked stunning!!! She truly looked beautiful. An interesting thing happens, when we like what we look we become slimmer. Remember, we create everything by the way we feel, including our weight.

Other very important things that we need to do in order to change our self-image is to take notice of all the smallest achievements and pat ourselves on the back. Every little accomplishment grows our self-image big time. When we make a boo boo, we need to say that we are learning and move on. Do things better the next time. Always aspire to do everything better and recognize it when we do.

So, love yourself more… then love yourself more… then love yourself more… and then… keep going. When you do that, truly do that you will find that your self-image will grow with it. Until… you will truly see how amazing and brilliant you are. At that time your life will match your self-image. It will become truly Magical!!!

Have an absolutely magical week, full of LOVE, GRATITUDE and FUN!!!
